Old Baroque Church, Siřem

This old baroque church in the village of Siřem, Blšany, Czech Republic was a originally a Gothic style church which was demolished in 1747 and in 1750 a new church dedicated to Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was built its place. The Church is now in desolate state.

The village of Siřem has some connection with Franz Kafka who spent several months here during his convalescence from TB. It was here he penned his "Aphorisms" and "Diaries" and got his inspiration for "The Castle". (Wikipedia)
