"Thirty Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety Eight" is the name of this beautiful sculpture at the Gatehouse of National Botanic Gardens of Wales. Created by Marion Kalmus, the inner side of glass cone has continuous cascade of running water highlighting the importance of water in our lives including plants.
The number 33,798 which is etched on the glass sculpture depicts the number of plant species that were threatened by extinction in 2000 - the year when the National Botanic Garden of Wales opened.
