This more than 1000 years old giant cherry is one of the three oldest cherry trees in Japan. Known as the Miharu-Takizakura cherry tree, its branches spread out to over 22 metres from edge to edge with its root having a circumference of 11 metres. It is listed in national heritage list of Japan.
The Miharu town had suffered badly in the the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami but the tree survived and continues to bloom. It has since become a symbol of resilience and hope. (Source of Info: The Telegraph)

A Panoramic view from Utah Hwy 128 near Moab. On the left is the Parriott Mesa, in the distance centre are the Priest and the Nuns rocks and the Castleton Tower and on the right is an unknown rock. I tried my best to identify it but failed. May be some one can help me in identifying it.

The Bridge of the Gods
Cloned from a Mural found under the a steel truss cantilever bridge spanning the Columbia River at the borders of Oregon and Washington state. The steel bridge known as "The Bridge of the Gods" derives its name from a natural stone bridge which once existed here. As per Native American legend the Great Spirit had built a bridge of stone on the River. Scientists say that the original stone bridge, which was called "The Bridge of the Gods" by the Natives, was created about 1000 years ago due to geological upheaval in the area. With passage of time the stone bridge eroded away and the steel bridge was ultimately built over the River.
